Sharing and Permissions
Sharing a project in Premiere.Studio takes just a few clicks. You control who has access and what they can do.
How to share a project
- On the Dashboard, hover over the project you want to share and click the Share button on its card. (It appears on projects you created.)
- Choose one or more people from your workspace.
- Choose an access level: Can edit, Can comment, or Can view.
- Click Add.
Access starts straight away. The person gets a notification, and the project appears on their Dashboard marked Shared.
You can share with people who are already members of your workspace. To share with someone new, first invite them to your workspace from the Membership page (they'll get an email invitation), then share the project with them. See Teams and Organizations.
Understanding roles
Owner
The person who created the project. Owners can edit the script, manage sharing, and delete the project. Ownership isn't something you hand out in the Share window. The owner of your workspace can also open and edit projects in it.
Can edit
Can read, write, and edit the script freely. Editors can also comment, accept or reject suggested edits, and manage comments. This is the right access for writing partners and staff writers who need to make direct changes.
Can comment and Can view
Both open the script read-only. These people can read the script, follow the writing live, and see comments and suggestions, but can't change the text. Adding comments or suggested edits currently needs Can edit access.
Managing access
You can update permissions at any time from the project's Share window:
- Change access: find the person and pick a different access level from the dropdown.
- Remove access: find the person, click the remove button, and confirm. They will no longer see the project. You can share it with them again later.
What the other person sees
When you share a project, it appears on the other person's Dashboard marked Shared. They can open it just like their own projects, with their access level determining what actions are available.
