AI Assistant
Premiere.Studio has a built-in AI writing assistant that understands screenplay craft. It knows how scenes are structured, how dialogue works, and what makes a script feel alive on the page. Think of it as a creative collaborator, not a replacement for your voice. The AI proposes ideas and drafts. You decide what stays.
The main ways to use AI
Inline assistant
Open the Assistant tab in the right panel and ask questions or request changes. You can select a passage of your script and ask the AI to rewrite it, expand it, or take it in a different direction. It's like having a writing partner you can bounce ideas off of at any time.

Ghost text autocomplete
When you pause at the end of an action or dialogue line, faded text appears ahead of your cursor suggesting what might come next. Press Tab to accept, or just keep typing to ignore it. It's subtle and stays out of your way.
Full script generation
Build an outline of scenes, grouped under sequences and acts, then let the AI generate a complete draft from your structure. The pages land in your script as a first draft for you to review and revise.
Script coverage
Get a professional-grade coverage report on your screenplay: structure analysis, character breakdowns, dialogue assessment, strengths, weaknesses, development notes, marketability, and a verdict. Reports are saved so you can track how your script improves across drafts.
The AI understands your script
The assistant works from your script when making suggestions: the pages around where you're working, your outline, and notes it keeps on the story as a whole. It knows your characters, your plot, and the tone you've set. That means suggestions stay consistent with the world you've built, not generic or disconnected.
Credits
AI features use credits from your plan. Different operations use different amounts. A quick inline suggestion uses fewer credits than generating an entire scene from an outline. Your remaining credits are shown in the editor's status bar and on the Membership page.

Privacy
Your scripts are private. They are never used to train AI models. When you use an AI feature, the relevant part of your script is sent to our AI provider to produce the result. The provider is barred from training on it, holds it only for a limited period for safety review and then discards it, and we don't share it with anyone else. Your assistant conversations are saved with the project.
Turning AI off entirely
Prefer to write without AI? Turn off the AI Writing Assistant switch under AI Features in your profile settings (the editor's Settings panel has the same switch, labelled AI features). With the toggle off:
- Nothing you do sends your script to the AI. The AI features are switched off for your account, so none of your actions start an AI request.
- You never see the features. The assistant panel, ghost text, generation buttons, and every other AI entry point disappear from the app completely. Your workspace is a purely manual screenwriting studio.
The switch is yours alone. People you share a project with have their own setting, so if they have AI turned on, their AI features can work with the shared script. And a generation already running when you turn AI off keeps going until it finishes, so press Stop Generation first if you want it stopped.
You can turn AI features back on at any time from the same place, and nothing about your script changes either way.
