Your email address and password. We never see or store your password. If you sign in with Google we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google.
Screenplays, outlines, scene and character lists, notes, comments, suggested edits, version history, and coverage reports, along with material the app derives from your script to make the AI features work. Also anything you upload: reference documents you add to the Craft Library, project cover images, and storyboard images.
Your plan, your AI credit balance, and how often you use AI features, so we can meter what you have spent. Card numbers are entered on our payment processor's own pages and never reach us.
To power streaks, levels and badges we keep how many pages and words you wrote each day, your running totals, and the badges you have earned. Anything you post or comment in The Lot is stored with your account too.
We collect traffic data: the page you visited, the site that referred you, and your browser, device type and country, held as aggregate counts without cookies.
We use no advertising trackers and no session recording. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not profile you for advertising.
To run your account, store and sync your work, provide the AI features, take payment, keep the service secure, and contact you about your account. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not sell it.
When you use an AI feature, the relevant part of your work is sent to our AI provider to produce the result. That can include the surrounding pages of your script, the details you have given us about the story, and for some features the whole of the script you are working on. What we never send is your other projects.
AI assistance is on by default, and it does some of this on its own: inline suggestions appear when you pause typing, and after you use an AI feature the app reads back through the script to keep its notes on your story current. So parts of your script are sent as you write, not only when you ask for something. You can turn AI features off in your settings, and that choice is enforced on our servers as well as in the app.
Your writing is not used to train AI models. Our AI provider is engaged under commercial terms that exclude your content from model training. They hold what is sent for a limited period for trust-and-safety purposes and then discard it. We do not use your writing to train anything of our own, and we do not share it with anyone else.
We use a small number of specialist providers to run the service. Each one receives only what it needs to do its job, and none of them receives your work for any purpose of their own.
Your projects are private by default. Other people see your work only where you make that happen:
Every image you upload is private and stored securely. Only people with access to the project can see it.
The one exception is a cover image on work you publish to The Lot.
You can ask us to delete your account from your profile settings. Deletion runs on a 30-day grace period: for 30 days you can change your mind and sign back in to cancel it. After that the erasure runs automatically and removes your account, your projects and documents, your uploaded files, and cancels any active subscription. Invoices already issued are retained by the payment processor as described above.
From your profile settings you can:
Your scripts can also be exported at any time from the editor, as Fountain, Final Draft, PDF or plain text.
We use browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences, such as your theme and editor settings. We set no advertising or tracking cookies.
Your account, your work and your uploads are stored in the United States.
You must be 18 or over to hold an account. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and if we learn that we have, we will delete it.
We may change this policy at any time.
