Comments
Comments let you leave notes on specific passages in the script. Think of them as sticky notes attached to the text. They're great for feedback, questions, and discussion, and they never change the script itself.
Creating a comment
- Select the text you want to comment on.
- Open the Comments panel with the speech-bubble button in the toolbar and click Comment on Selection, or press Cmd+Shift+M.
- Type your note and click Add Comment.
The selected text will be highlighted, showing that a comment is attached. If nothing is selected, you leave a general comment on the script instead.
Viewing comments
Open the Comments tab in the right panel to see the comments in the script. Each comment shows:
- The text it's attached to
- Who wrote it
- When it was posted
Replying to a comment
Click on a comment to expand the thread. Type your reply at the bottom to continue the conversation. This keeps all discussion about a specific passage in one place.
Resolving comments
When the feedback in a comment has been addressed, click Resolve to close it. Resolved comments move from the Open list to the Resolved list but are not deleted. You can view them there later, and unresolve one if you need to reopen the conversation.
Comment indicators
Small indicators appear in the right margin of the editor, showing where open comments sit in your script. Click an indicator to open that comment in the Comments panel.
Who can comment
The project owner and people with Can edit access can add comments, reply, and resolve them. People with Can comment or Can view access can read comments but can't add them at the moment. Comments are still the main tool for giving notes without modifying the draft.
