TV Series Projects
Premiere.Studio supports full TV series projects with seasons, episodes, and shared settings. Whether you're writing a limited series or a multi-season show, the series structure keeps everything organized.
Creating a TV series
From the Dashboard, click New Project and choose TV Series, single camera or multi camera. Give your series a name, and it starts with Season 1 and a Pilot episode ready to write.
Series structure
A series project is organized into three levels:
- Series: the top-level container for your show
- Seasons: each season holds a set of episodes
- Episodes: each episode is its own script document
Add seasons with Add Season and episodes with Add Episode on the series page, as many as you need. Each new season or episode takes the next number in order, and you can rename an episode at any time.
Format profiles
TV scripts use different formatting conventions than feature films. Premiere supports two common TV formats:
- Single-camera: formatted like a film script. This is the standard for most dramas and single-camera comedies (think Breaking Bad, Fleabag, or The Bear).
- Multi-camera: uses a different layout with double-spaced dialogue, uppercase action, and underlined scene headings. This is the format for shows shot in front of a live audience (think Friends, Seinfeld, or The Big Bang Theory).
Choose the format that matches your show when you create the series. Each episode you add takes the series' format. You can change an episode's format from Settings in the editor, and that change applies to that episode.
Shared settings
Some things belong to the series rather than to any one episode:
- The format new episodes start with (single-camera or multi-camera)
- The series' logline, genre, target length and cover image
- Craft references, chosen on the series page, which steer AI generation for every episode
This keeps things consistent across your writing team, especially in a room where multiple writers are working on different episodes at the same time.
Navigating your series
From the series detail page, you can see all seasons and episodes at a glance. Click any episode to open it in the editor. Leaving an episode brings you back to the series page, so you can open the next one without going back to the Dashboard.
Working with a writing team
TV series projects are designed for writers' rooms. Multiple writers can be working on different episodes simultaneously, each in their own editor window. The shared format and series settings keep everyone aligned.
